1. What is your greatest achievement in sport?
At the age of 14-18 I played semi-professional football in the second highest division in Sweden. Playing at this level required a lot of commitment but challenged me in a lot of ways, boosting my performance on the pitch as well as my resilience off it. This experience has benefitted me greatly during both club and team captaincy of Glasgow University Women’ s Football Club.
2. How has being a part of a sport’ s club benefited your time at UofG?
It has given me an extra family, especially important for me as an international student given that my family aren’ t close by. Being a part of the football club allowed me to easily adapt to the student way of life in Glasgow. By competing throughout Scotland, sport participation has given me the opportunity to travel and see what other Scottish cities have to offer. It has allowed me to play football with people from all across the world. Sport offers a unique opportunity to bring diverse people together to work towards a common goal and this is something evident at Glasgow.
