Celebrating LFCC’s 9th Anniversary
“A Time of Refreshing – Refreshing, Recommitting and Rebranding”
by
Pastor T. Anthony Thompson
I was listening to a song by Jonathan Nelson recently and it simply says: “This is just the
beginning. The year of refreshing. His plan now unfolding. The time of your great blessing.”
The song implores us to expect nothing but VICTORY. That's the promise of our King: to do
exceedingly, abundantly, above what you ask or think, so… Expect the Great.
I begin to ask GOD, “ how is this just the beginning?” and the Lord reminded me that the
number 8 in biblical numerology is the number of new beginnings and since we are entering
into our 9th year, that shifts and cycles of blessings are starting all over again. This means that
the promises of the LORD to do exceedingly and abundantly are about to manifested and that
our LFCC family can EXPECT THE GREAT!!!
So God dropped this passage in my spirit:
“For I will [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I will replenish every languishing and
sorrowful person.” Jeremiah 31:25 AMP
A partial definition of the word refresh is: to make (someone) have more energy and feel less
tired or less hot: to give someone more of (a drink): to fill (someone's glass, cup, etc.) again.
There are times in life when we need to be refreshed. We may feel like we’re running on fumes
or just barely getting by, but it is during these times that we must deliberately turn to the One
who has the power to strengthen us and fill us to the point of overflowing.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause
you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]” Matthew 11:28 AMP
If we neglect our natural bodies by missing sleep and eating poorly we will eventually become
weary and malnourished. Likewise, when we stray from the Word of God, attempting to live
life in our own strength, we quickly become weary and tired.
