Flite Fest
When you have an enthusiastic community like Flite Test, you can bet that we love to get together and fly together. That is exactly what we do in June in Malvern, Ohio at something we call Flite Fest. Thousands of people come together and have a ton of fun building, flying, crashing( more on the crashing in a minute …) and connecting with friends through flight. Sometimes the planes fly great, and … sometimes they don’ t. Even when planes don’ t fly quite right, lots of people are willing to help figure out what needs to be fixed to get the plane back in the air.
Usually, when you are flying a remote-control airplane, you don’ t want to crash into anything … and while that’ s true most of the time, at Flite Fest we have something called Combat where crashing isn’ t just encouraged, it’ s actually on the schedule! Every day we have aerial combats where about a hundred aircraft are flown in what has been called,“ a demolition derby in the sky.” Pilots try to either take down other aircraft or to be the last aircraft flying without someone else taking you out … either way, it’ s extremely exciting, even if you are just watching.
