Single: basically this is when a pair of electrons are shared. It is a weak and small bond, but it is more stable than a double and triple bond, protecting it from atoms that want to steal electrons.

Double: in simple words, this occurs when two atoms share two pairs of electrons. It is shown as two horizontal lines. And as mentioned before, it is less stable than a single bond, but it is also stronger.

Triple: hence the name, this is when three pairs of elec-

trons are shared between two atoms. And of the

three types of bonds it is the least stable.
