the next, the pain is still very real.
It can be difficult to feel the joy of
the holidays when you are grieving
the loss of someone who was dear to
you. Ralph Zentner and his family
understand this pain and hope to
offer peace to those suffering or
remembering a loss at this time.
The white dove symbolizes peace
and love. After the first year of
business, the team at Cornerstone
began providing small white dove
ornaments, to families and friends
of those who had died, on the year
anniversary of their passing as a
means, not only to express sympathy,
but also to show devotion to members
of the community. Those who
received the dove were so comforted
by the gesture that Cornerstone
began giving the doves out yearround. However the Zentners wanted
to find something more symbolic
for the lives they had celebrated
through the years and the idea
of the memorial dove pin came to
fruition. It provided a way for people
to honour the memory of their loved
one by having this symbol with them
always. Since then, over 40,000 dove
pins have made their way to families
across Southern Alberta, Canada
and to many parts of the world. This
year Cornerstone is continuing this
legacy by offering the memorial dove
ornament you see before you as a
means of remembering your loved
one(s) during the holidays.
It is difficult and scary to be the
person left behind. Part of healthy
grieving lies not in forgetting or
suppressing your memories, but in
remembering and talking about the
times you spent together. The pain
does not go away, but lessens over
time as you continue to talk to friends
and family about the person you are
missing.

place of significance; allow yourself to
remember them, miss them and love
them.
