LEEK FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL ht... OD AND DRINK FESTIVAL founded) and bringing back Slightly Foxed Brewing Company ales to Leek specially for the festival and Titanic’s own fleet of pubs. •A Sausage Trail - Taking place on the Saturday of the festival and starting in the grounds of Foxlowe Arts Centre it’s only £5 for a scoring card and map. Participants will then set off on the trail, winding its way through the town and stalls – including the local town butchers, stall holders and even the odd pub or two, sampling and scoring the varied sausages until the trail is complete and the cards returned are to the Foxlowe for a festival sausage in a roll. The sausage trail is sponsored by award-winning Leek company Cottage Delight who have commissioned a special festival sausage. At the end of the day the scores will be totted up and the best sausage of the festival will be announced. •Foodie films - Foxlowe Arts Centre will be hosting a foodie film on the Friday and Saturday evenings of the festival in the Rainbow Room of the centre. This room was fitted out with blu-ray player, full HD projector and cinema surround sound for the regular Foxlowe Film seasons. It is a great experience not to be missed in which details of the films showing will be available closer to the time. •Beer Festival - The beer festival tent will be in the grounds of the Foxlowe Arts Centre. Run by the local Titanic Brewery, the beer tent will have a great range of local and hand picked ales (including the Totally Locally beer swap) be open until 9pm on Saturday 15th, 4pm on Sunday 16th with live music from local bands on both days all adding to the atmosphere. It is not all about the beer tent though – Leek has a wealth of fantastic pubs and bars to explore and Leek’s Real Ale Trail guide will be the perfect accompaniment for festival-goers. Many of the pubs will be taking part in the festival with guest ales and specials to try. Other events planned for the festival weekend also include: A ‘foods of the world’ local restaurant map with special offers, tastings and events, foodie talks and cookery demonstrations from top local and celebrity chefs. More details of the programme of talks, demonstrations, stall holders and layouts will be available closer to the event – in the meantime why not follow the team on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest news and updates.
