uxton Opera House Panto, ‘Cinderella’ has
two well-known TV celebrities who will star
in the show.
Sarah Thomas – best known for her longrunning role in ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ – will
play Cinderella’s magical Fairy Godmother.
Sarah was one of the original cast members of
‘Summer Wine’, appearing as Glenda Wilkinson
from 1986 to 2010, when the final series was
broadcast. She also played Enid Simmons in the
iconic 1980s children’s series ‘Worzel
Gummidge’.
The children’s favourite this year is Jonny
Freeman, who plays a leading role in the popular
CBBC Sci-if adventure series, ‘M.I. High’. He
appears as school caretaker Frank London, who
leads a double life as a spymaster in charge of a
team of young secret agents.

Jonny promises to be a sure-fire hit with
audiences when he takes the role of Cinderella’s
best friend ‘Buttons’: when he is not appearing
in this high profile CBBC series he works as a
stand-up comedian.
Writer/director Philip Dart promises a
memorable show: “Cinderella is one of the
nation’s best-loved stories and the production
will build on all the magical elements that
children love whilst ensuring there is plenty of
humour to keep the mums and dads
entertained.”
Cinderella will take place from 12th
