Rustic charm and vintage
detail inspire couple’s
countryside wedding
I
t was an unseasonal sunny and mild autumnal day
for the wedding of a local Leek couple on Saturday
19th October.
Family and friends of the bride and groom
gathered at a beautifully decorated St Leonard’s C of
E Church in the village of Ipstones for the wedding
ceremony of Richard Carrington and Samantha
Boden.
Sticking with tradition, the couple chose to marry
in the parish church of the bride’s parents home,
farmers Geoff and Sue Boden of Ipstones.
Former Leek High student 28 year old
Samantha, who works for Social Services in Leek was
accompanied down the isle at a little past midday by
her father, Geoff followed by bridesmaids, her older
sister Deborah, cousin Charlotte Robinson and best
friend Amy Underwood.
Awaiting his blushing bride’s arrival Richard,
who attended Westwood High School, the son of
retired farm owners John and Jean Carrington of
Rushton had his best men, Thomas Hine and Alex
Cartwright by his side for moral support.
The couple went for a rustic, autumnal theme for
their big day softened by delicate lace and pastel
shades of creams and peach for the handmade
bridesmaids dresses, and the men’s ties.
Ushering in the guests on the day, groom
Richard, a builder by trade, enlisted the help of long
term friends Phil Heath and Dave Muir.
The ceremony conducted by Reverend Michael
Evans went without a hitch and included two
readings, one by bride Samantha’s aunty,
