REFLECTIONS COACHING Motivation - the missing ingredi t’s May at last and as we leave those damp winter months behind our thoughts turn to summer holidays and how we’re going to have to expose more skin. We need to start by losing a few pounds. I Personal Development Coach, Carolyn Trafford explains why motivation is the most important ingredient in any diet. Speaking to Leek Life Carolyn explained: “There are some fantastic commercial diets out there, but they all focus on one aspect of weight loss and that often involves cutting out something we love. “Having to give up something we enjoy when dieting can make the process of losing weight more stressful and difficult and can result in us returning to bad habits after we’ve achieved weight loss and piling the pounds back on again. We can set ourselves up to fail. “It’s no secret that we lose weight when we increase exercise levels and maintain a healthy and balanced diet. For long term, lasting results, a good dose of motivation is required as well. When our motivation waivers, then its difficult to stick to our new healthier regimes. “My tip is to imagine what it would look or feel like to have achieved your weight loss goal.
