LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHER res her moment to shine side I was always taking photos of day trips, dressing up days and chocolate faces.” It was only when a friend approached Paula and said how much she liked her style of photography and asked if she would take her daughter’s wedding photos that the idea of taking her hobby onto the next level became a real consideration. “Instantly I thought, ‘no way’ I couldn’t possibly have that kind of responsibility. But then to think she had that level of faith and trust in me I decided to go for it. I discovered exactly what they wanted from me and by the day of the wedding, they were at ease with me, and I was with them. I took loads of natural shots, and some formal ones. We even went back to the wedding venue a few weeks later and did another family shoot. “I surprised myself how much passion and drive I had for doing weddings and from that day on the work has been flowing in naturally.” Paula may be taking her hobby onto the next level but admits she still loves it now more than ever and is continuing to learn all the time. Paula added: “I have to say though my best subject, by far, is my youngest son, Athen. He has been so used to the camera from birth, that he is a natural in front of the camera.” So what now for Paula? “Well now I have decided to take the plunge and go self employed I’m riding the wave of passion for photography and putting as much dedication into it as possible. I want to get to know people and be able to capture their very essence using my creative vision around them.” If you would like to see more of Paula’s work you can find her on Facebook at Paula Gordejczuk Photography or give her a call on Tel. 07977096920/ 01538 382660 Leek Life March/April 2014 25
