The idea of a Repair Cafe seems particularly popular. Thank you to everyone who has offered help with this. We’re still aiming for the New Year but It will take time as we need to apply for some grant funding. We’ve made progress on car sharing. A member of the Malvern Hills Car Club met with a group of us considering sharing a car rather than owning one. This makes money sense if you use a car 3 days a week or less, and do 6000 miles or less in a year. The ‘plastics project’ is reviewing what plastic packaging is used by food retailers in town and the response is very positive. Then we’ll research what suitable plastic free packaging is available and investigate opportunities to bulk buy to keep costs down. As part of this project we arranged a discussion meeting with the Waste Disposal Team Leader at Herefordshire Council. Timing is good. There are plans for consultation on this over the next few months.
