We’re making progress. The Repair Cafe starts on Saturday 1st February in the Burgage Hall. Volunteers will repair household items. Tea/coffee and cake will be available. The plan is to run the cafe on the first Saturday of every month. You can contact the team by e-mail at repaircafeledbury@ gmail.com The review continues of the use of ‘single use’ plastic in town. The next phase will be researching alternatives. The good news is that many businesses are already reducing their use of plastic and increasing the opportunities to use your own containers. Following on from the talk on Waste Management in September, a group of supporters are visiting Envirosort this month to find out more about recycling. Based near Worcester, Envirosort welcome visits by groups or individuals, by appointment. Our project on the management of open spaces, in particular the Town Trail, has made a start. Early in December the project team met with the Town Clerk and a representative of Balfour Beatty. We are following up on potential opportunities for volunteers to help look after the Town Trail. The aim is to improve biodiversity. We’ll start with a survey to identify what plants are present, with a view to drawing up and implementing a management plan for ground level. Trees will remain the responsibility of Herefordshire Council’s contractors.
