Hanseschule Attendorn
In the southern Sauerland, near the Biggesee and not far from Cologne, Bonn or Dortmund, the Hanseschule is the
workplace and living space for about 600 students aged 11 to 16 years, 75 teachers, 2 social workers, and a team of 10
people that keeps the school running. As the first “Sekundarschule” in the district of Olpe, the Hanseschule Attendorn started on August 1st, 2012. From the very beginning, our goal has been and still is to guide young people with a lot of positive relationship building and individual support to a joyful and successful learning. We see ourselves as a school for all and are guided by the following ideas:
• We are a school for children with different talent and biographies.
• We experience diversity as an enrichment.
• We want to support the potential of our students.
• We promote independent and selfresponsible
learning.
• Close cooperation with the parental home • Prevention services.
• Integration of school social work.
Our classes usually have about 20 to 25 students. Pupils with special needs are additionally supervised by special educators. Our classes are led by a class teacher tandem. The extensive school grounds and the nearby sports grounds offer students of all ages various opportunities to actively spend their breaks as well as lessons. our goal is to support our students according to their abilities, to accompany them on the way to adulthood and to ensure a good transition into the further course of life, whether in work or study.
