Buffalo Soldier Monument Initiated by General Colin Powell, the Buffalo Soldier Monument was dedicated in 1992 to the memory of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments of the U.S. Army. These units were comprised of black troopers who proved their bravery and valor throughout the Indian Wars. They won the respect of the Cheyenne warriors who named them “Buffalo Soldiers.” Open daily to the public. 9 ........................................ .................................. ........................................ .................................
