STEM LC Volunteers with POWERSET
students from Palacios High School
The learning community hosted the
POWERSET women from Palacios High
School on February 21. Each SPARK student
paired with a POWERSET student, and the
teams built bridges to see whose bridge could
hold the most weight.
Selected Events
Enchanted Rock Trip: All of the residents
raved about the March 1 trip to Enchanted
Rock! The group enjoyed itself and definitely
bonded over the experience which strengthened our community.
Bobcat Build: Seven of the residents spent the
day helping an 80 year-old San Marcos resident
get some things done in her yard!
Resident Spotlight: the energetic and
enthusiastic Haley Stirneman
I like living in the learning
community because the people
around you become your family.
It's hard being a STEM major,
but a great support system makes
the experience better. You don't feel
so overwhelmed because you have
friends going through the same
classes and the same adversities.
~ Hailey Stirneman
Circuit of The Americas Visit: Several of the
LC students joined Tokyo Electron at the
Circuit of The Americas Racetrack in Austin on
April 11 for a day of racing and networking.
