Come and See
Ann Voskamp
When he saw Jesus passing by , he said , “ Look , the Lamb of God !” When the two disciples heard him say this , they followed Jesus . Turning around , Jesus saw them following and asked , “ What do you want ?” They said , “ Rabbi ” ( which means Teacher ), “ where are you staying ?” “ Come ,” he replied , “ and you will see .” John 1:35-39
Once you ’ ve seen God , you can ’ t unsee Him .
Jesus says to you in this moment , “ Come and see ,” because Jesus knows that whatever you see , you can ’ t unsee .
Once you ’ ve witnessed , traced , touched , grazed a bit of His glory , once you ’ ve intimately known someone , you can ’ t ultimately unknow them .
Critics may lob all kinds of arguments to discredit God , and skeptics may bandy around a whole bunch of doubts about God , and experts may expect all their lofty suppositions to move you to some other perspective , but the undeniable truth is , once you ’ ve experienced God , you can ’ t unexperience Him .
No argument about God can argue with an experience of God .
Once you ’ ve intimately encountered God in the world , you can count on seeing
