Peace with God but Angry with the Pattern
The reason we continue to engage in unhealthy patterns is that enough time elapses between episodes that we tend to forget the behavior that led to exhaustion or sickness . “ I haven ’ t been sick in a couple of months , so I ’ ll keep burning the midnight oil .” Then , the pattern repeats itself . Sound familiar ?
Proverbs 4:4 says , “ Then he taught me , and he said to me . Take hold of my words with all your heart ; keep my commands , and you will live .” When the Word says to “ take hold of my words ” it means daily meditation on God ’ s word and His wonderful plan for you . This , in turn , brings us great peace . In Matthew 14:22-23 , we learn that after Jesus fed the five thousand , he dismissed the crowd and the disciples . Then ... “ He went up on a mountainside by himself to pray . When evening came , He was there alone .”
For me , I had to get angry with the pattern and quit justifying time away from God because of my busy schedule . I seriously got sick and tired of being sick and tired . I hope you will set aside some time every day to pray and meditate and spend some time in God ’ s word .

This is quite a greeting ! John aligns our prosperous soul with overall health . To be effective in life and the Kingdom , it is vital to pursue health . Please take some time and evaluate your overall health . Are there some areas in your life that need some adjustments ? If so , please keep reading .
At some point a few years ago , I finally got angry with the patterns that led to spiritual and physical weakness , so I completed a self-assessment to determine ways to live a healthier life . During this assessment , I realized I needed to go to bed earlier and develop a consistent morning routine . This took some time and effort , but this routine changed my life . If you ’ re serious about getting healthy this year , consider beginning your mornings with the following routine .
As we have already established , time in His presence through prayer , meditation , and the reading of His word , is vital to spiritual health . Next , let ’ s consider our overall health . Here are five other things that changed my life :
1 . Make your bed – When we do this , we have already accomplished one challenge , and we feel more organized .
2 . Light exercise - Do some type of light exercise such as pushups , setups , squats , etc . to get your blood flowing . This stimulates the immune system by increasing blood flow and has proven to improve your mood .
3 . Cold shower - At the end of a regular shower , turn the water cold for a least one minute . This
