The father , now more than a little bit embarrassed , said , “ I shouldn ’ t have said those words , but yes , I suppose God heard me .”

The boy thought for a moment and then asked his father ,
“ If God heard everything you said , then which one did He believe ?”

“ Yes , God heard me then too . Eat your hamburger .”
The boy picked up a fry and put it in his mouth and chewed .
“ Daddy , did God hear you when you prayed for the food ?”
