Heroes — mythical or real — seek assistance in what they know needs to be done . In the Mission
Impossible franchise , the agent — whether it was Peter Graves in the original television series or Tom Cruise in the movies — was informed of their mission through a communication device that would self-destruct shortly thereafter . The message on the device came from a greater power than the character Graves or Cruise played — the Impossible Mission Force , or IMF . They made the impossible mission possible with their pooled knowledge that figured out every detail , right down to the second . Without the IMF , none of the complicated and death-defying missions could be accomplished in a believable way . Without the IMF , only one television season or movie would have been produced , because either the main character would be dead or the ridiculously unbelievable series would have bombed .
Heroes don ’ t exist in a vacuum where their efforts are the only ones that matter . It ’ s true that they might encounter a moment that requires one instant act of courageous heroic action , but more often we see heroes assisting each other in the company of others .
The Avengers movie series is all about superheroes working together with their unique superpowers to save the world from evil forces .
