Congratulations to NHS senior Stacie Johnson 
on receiving the Horatio Alger Scholarship! In 
order to receive this prestigious scholarship, 
Stacie had to compete against 5,000 other 
students around the country​ .  

Mrs. Maloney's AP Physics class spent a 
weekend in Jackson studying at Millsaps 
College and JSU. Their weekend included a tour 
of the Civil Rights museum and lots of hands on 
learning with tutors from Yale, The University 
of Virginia, and MIT.   

The Lady Trojans are the 2020 Sam Dale 
Tournament Champions. This tournament is an 
annual event and this year was hosted by 
Southeast High School. 
NHS was well- represented at the 5th Annual 
Lauderdale County Honor Band hosted by 
Meridian Community College. Xavier Rodriguez, 
Kelcee Fitzgerald, and Jemmy Metayer each 
achieved 1st chair in their sections in the 
band.The Trojans will also be competing in the 
East Central Community College Honor Band on 
January 31st in Decatur, Mississippi, as well as 
the East Central Mississippi Band Directors 
Association district band clinic held at 
Ridgeland High School in February.
