LCM Annual Report 2017ARprint | Page 3

Have you heard the stories about the early days of Lighthouse Christian Ministries and the Big Table? It wasn’t anything special to look at…just a big old dining room table and chairs positioned directly in front of the main entrance of the original LCM resale shop. But in so many ways, it represented what the Lighthouse was all about…a “connection point” where stories were swapped, coffee was shared, work was planned, prayers were offered, and people experienced the love of Jesus in very tangible ways. Recapturing that memory and expanding LCM’s ministry into the future is our vision for the recently acquired “bonus” building and adjacent space located immediately behind our current building on Grand Avenue in Bacliff. By the Numbers We want to introduce you to our newest outreach ministry: The Lighthouse Senior Citizen Program! 15 God often provides the provision before the program, and this was no exception. 18 A local Pastor had asked us to pray for the senior citizens in our community as he felt there were needs not being met. A few short days later, two new volunteers came to LCM with a passion for the elderly and the heart to help us start a new program. Heather Lin- hart was one of those volunteers, and she currently is our volunteer Program Coordinator. Currently, the Senior Program offers a festive gathering every third Friday of the month and visits to home-bound seniors. We are excited to see where God takes this new program as we already see lives being impacted. “ Many seniors in our community are isolated, lonely and struggling to make ends meet. We can make a difference in their lives by making them laugh, providing a meal and helping them develop new friendships.” – H. Linhart.
