LCM Annual Report 2017ARprint | Page 2

Dear Friends, A sailor knows the value of a Lighthouse, shining a beacon of light in the storm to guide the ship to safety. Lighthouse Christian Ministries (LCM) strives to be that beacon in our community by shining Christ’s great love to those in the midst of the storms of their lives. 2017 will be remembered in the lives of our community as the year of Hurricane Harvey which came barreling into town on August 25th, 2017, and left a trail of destruction. The response to Hurricane Harvey and the unselfish, kind acts of heroism and generosity have been forever marked in our hearts and in history. LCM responded quickly by opening our doors to serve the emergency needs through our resale shop and food pantry. Today we are continuing to serve families as they are rebuilding and restoring what the storm destroyed. In our efforts to serve our community, it is our only desire that those who are in the middle of this great storm will keep their eyes planted on Jesus and that they will see the “Lighthouse” as a tangible expression of the love He has for them as He provides for their every need. This year as we serve we are grateful to have also celebrated a huge milestone in the life of our ministry; on December 1, 2017, LCM celebrated our 20th Anniversary. It has been an exciting 20 years and we are looking forward with great anticipation to see where the Lord leads us in our ministry. At this time we are thanking Him for the provision of new land that came with a “bonus building.” We actively sought and purchased this land to allow additional parking for our growing ministry. However, we believe that while Harvey was a bit of a surprise to us, God went ahead of the storm and provided this extra building to help house and store the donations and supplies that we were able to receive and distribute following the storm. We are in a time of prayer and exploration to see how this new space will create new opportunities to further our mission in “Building relationships through service, to shine Christ’s love and hope in our community.” We invite you to join us in our prayers and our journey as we continue to serve as His Lighthouse in carrying out His mission. We also want to celebrate that in God’s great provision of donations and volunteer service, LCM provided approxi- mately $1.1 million of services from $600,000 of income/donations. . .a multiplication factor of just under 2X!
