Heads Up for Saturday 25 March 2017 -- Jenny ’ s Water Hole , Mount Barney National Park Walk Description
The walk starts at the Yellow Pinch Car Park in Barney National Park NW of Rathdowney . There are toilets at the Picnic Area . This is a straight forward walk , along the main track to the base of Mount Barney . Although , there is a small hill at the start that leads to a small style / gate . Then it is downhill for a short while and along the flats . There are three Fords to cross which should make it interesting after this rain . The rivers / creeks come up and go down quickly in this area . Jenny ’ s water hole is / was located just passed the third crossing . I say was because the hole itself got washed away in a flood last year . A new water hole has appeared a little further downstream . We will have morning tea at this location . Those that wish can join me in exploring the road ahead of Jenny Water Hole . The return trip is back along the road we came in on . About 500 metres before we get back to the cars those that wish , may take the 5 minuet climb to the Pinch ( Yellow Pinch ) to admire the views of the local mountains . It ’ s well worth the effort . Now back down the hill for a well-deserved lunch either via the road or down the bush track spur . Walk Details
