HCBA Friends , welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful summer spent with family and friends ! If you ’ re taking the time to read this message , you know I had the honor of being sworn in as the current HCBA President back in June . My involvement
this month , to our signature Bench Bar conference in october and all the section / committee meetings , membership luncheons , networking events and CLEs in between ! We hope you will mark your calendar and join us .
My theme for this year is
with the HCBA began almost
“ Community .”
Community
is
from the day I was sworn into the practice of law in 2004 . I served on the Young Lawyers Division Board for many years before becoming President , and I ’ ve served on the “ Big Board ” as a Director for three elected terms . This organization means the world to me , and it is truly an honor to lead this year . since June , things might have seemed quiet , but the HCBA has been hard at work planning events for the 2022-23 Bar year — from our Welcome Back reception
defined as a “ group of people with a common characteristic or interest living within a larger society .” We are the HCBA community — a bunch of lawyers and judges ( approximately 3,600 in fact ) who share a common bond and work together to advance the goals of the HCBA . These goals can be found on our website and I would encourage you to take a look so they are fresh in everyone ’ s mind this year .
