I CHATEAU MOUTON ROTHCHILD In 1945 , Baron Philippe de Rothschild began the tradition that would become the visual hallmark of Mouton Rothschild when he brought together some of the most celebrated artists of the time , including Picasso , Miro , Chagall , Dali , jeff Koons and David Hockney , who was commissioned for this illustration of the 2014 vintage . The artist was a personal friend of Baroness Philippine de Rothschild , who died in 2014 and to whom his drawing pays tribute . The two glasses , one empty , one full , tell the story of the constantly renewed miracle of birth of a great wine : Chateau Mouton Rothchild , of which Baroness Phillipine was for so long the guiding spirit .
