committed to our legal profession and our community.  Throughout her professional career, Cissy has worked vigorously to provide free legal services to members of our community that could not otherwise afford the services of an attorney. Cissy’s efforts to provide legal assistance to children, youth, victims of domestic violence and indigent clients have not gone unrecognized.  Thus far, in 2016 Cissy was acknowledged by her peers and was honored with the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono award for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit on January 28, 2016.  In March 2016 and March 2017, Cissy Sevelin was also recognized by Hillsborough County Bar Association and presented The Rosemary Award for Proven Producer for her pro bono contributions to the community.  In September 2015 and 2014, respectively, Cissy was recognized as the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year for providing services to victims of domestic violence by Are You Safe, Inc.  In April of 2015, Cissy was presented with the Outstanding Pro Bono Service by a Lawyer award by the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit & H.A.V.E. a HEART.Are You Safe, Inc. In September 2016, Cissy was presented with the Alberto Romero Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.  

Over the past 30 plus years, Cissy has held various positions. She has extensive knowledge in the field of bankruptcy, banking, accounting, and mediating and in management and uses this knowledge to serve the public.  Cissy believes that her work outside of the legal arena – together with the time she has served in federal court, will serve her well and will bring valuable experience to the court.

Cissy's ability to speak Spanish allows her to assist Hispanic clients without the need of a translator.

Cissy Boza Sevelin has been a lifelong resident of Hillsborough County for the last 58 years.  

She is a family woman, married to Ralph Sevelin, with two beautiful daughters, a son, and stepson and an eight-year-old granddaughter.

The young Cissy Boza began working when she was twelve year's old for Olympia Bakery located on Howard Ave. Cissy worked all through college and continued to work while attending law school.  For much of her career, she worked full-time while raising three children trying to balance work, family, and school. Cissy was also a small-business owner, having founded Victorian Gardens in September 1998, a company that provided a ceremony and reception venue located in Thonotosassa, Fl.
