Cissy grew up in Hillsborough County and attended the University of South Florida. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Finance. While residing in the Tampa Bay Area, Cissy attended the University of Orlando/Barry University and received her Masters of Business Administration while attending law school at Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law where she received her Jurist Doctorate.
Cissy Boza Sevelin has worked hard her entire legal career to ensure justice, fairness and an equal playing field for all of her clients. Cissy is a firm believer in the fair administration of justice and judicial integrity. The retirement of the Honorable Robert A. Foster has opened a door and created an opportunity for her to continue to serve the people of Hillsborough County. If the voters deem Cissy worthy, her goal is to ensure that she will work for a justice system that people can trust to deliver consistent treatment, fair trials and access to justice regardless of their financial standing, which is the true meaning of servant leadership.

term law clerk for nine years with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida for the Honorable Alexander L. Paskay, the Honorable David H. Adams, the Honorable Jeffery P. Hopkins, the Honorable Barry S. Schermer and the Honorable Caryl E. Delano. While employed with the Bankruptcy Court, Cissy wrote countless opinions on various issues.
Since opening her practice, Cissy Sevelin has donated her time in the areas of family law, domestic violence, dependency and delinquency, bankruptcy and advance directives. She volunteers for the Bay Area Legal Services’ Volunteer Lawyers Program, working at the Domestic Violence Assistance Project clinic and on the Case Referral Panel. She is also extensively involved with the nonprofit organization Are You Safe, Inc., whose mission is to provide legal and social services to victims of domestic violence, and the nonprofit organization Crossroads for Florida Kids, Inc., as an Attorney ad Litem representing children in dependency proceedings, including those charged with delinquencies. Further, Cissy serves as a volunteer teen court judge through the Juvenile Diversion Program and as a Guardian ad Litem in dependency court. If that is not enough, Cissy jumps in and helps out with other community projects when time permits.
