Kirk Nelson, Director of LDA Design, the landscape architects appointed to design and install Landsby’s podium gardens and roof terraces comments, “The Landsby Gardens & Terraces represent a fresh and practical approach to providing year-round, outside living, entertainment and play space for use by resident’s and their visitors. As part of the Wembley Park Landscape Masterplan, developed LDA Design, the roof gardens form part of the vibrant residential, retail, cultural and entertainment neighbourhood being developed, with a special character distinct to Landsby a pair of stepped residential blocks designed to maximise views for residents. “Envisaged as accessible garden elements in addition to the seating and spaces and providing a welcome buffer entertaining space. between the bustling Olympic Way and Weaver Walk, the gardens contribute to a sense of calmness and serenity above street level. The roof top gardens create a stunning destination for day and night time viewing of the surrounding Wembley Park, Arch and distant views to the City, Barn Hill and Harrow-on-the Hill. The West Garden at Level 1 and the East Garden at Level 2 include playable landscape “The design of the two roof top gardens maximises the views with pathways alongside the glass-topped balustrade. The artificial lawns were chosen over live lawns to reduce loading, provide year-round access, remove the need for watering and use of fertilisers and chemicals and deliver the luxury of ease of use and the lifestyle choice associated with high end rental living.
