whatever comes to mind I give it a go , even if most times the outcome is not the one desired .
Regarding the cultural influence I don`t think nor feel there was / is a strong one . I`ve been introduced to different cultures before my 20th birthday , now being 25 yo , so the cultural aspect of my personality was in the process of being disolved . Mind you , I had no clue of the art world and still think I have none , thinking of the vastness of it .
