were created in . I had already learnt how to draw , paint with acrylics , oils , sculpt , and my classes simply assisted in the modifications and improvement of my abilities and technique . Although I had not touched a watercolour brush in my life and had no experience with the medium whatsoever . To this day it is one of my most cherished mediums to work with and I believe that I have somewhat mastered my own personal and inner craftsmanship when it comes to watercolours . My love for drawing , sculpting , and oil / acrylic painting are still fully intact and I commonly alternate between mediums according to my moods and visions , however this particular series I absolutely felt would be best expressed by myself within the watercolour medium . It was the freedom of the flowing water and pigment on the paper that assisted my inner spirit flow , within my hands and through my brush strokes .
Ultimately I can also say with great compassion , that my education and artistic studies had great influence on my overall evolution as an artist . This influence can primarily be attributed to the likes of three individuals all of which were previous professors of mine . It was Professor Joachim Fernandez a very gifted sculptor who whole heartedly spoke of his passions and experiences with art as a young man , giving me great inspiration and making it clear in my mind that my professional identity in this world ; was to be an artist . A Professor and a very talented performance artist , mixed mediest , painter , and illustrator ; Mr . Kurt Von Voetsch showered his students with many of his personal stories , experiences , and passions within the field . To sum up Mr . Von Voetsch in one sentence ; I would say that he has proven to me on numerous occasions that no matter who you are or what you do , where you come from or where your headed , anything is possible with faith . Lastly but not least , I must attribute my knowledge , experience , and talent within the watercolour medium to this very special individual , Professor Lillian Mendez . An exceedingly talented artist in general but obtained a particularly special aptitude when it came to the watercolour medium . She has taught me almost everything I know today when it comes to working with the tricky medium and for that I am forever
