The display is firmly established as a fan favourite and it ’ s because you are always guaranteed to see some incredible classics and hear some special stories too , and this year has certainly not disappointed . The beauty of this competition really is that anyone , and their classic , can take home the trophy and we can ’ t wait to crown them in November .
Adrian Howells – 1972 Aston Martin DBSV8
Bought in 2001 , from its second owner , Adrian started a sympathetic restoration trying to preserve as many of the original parts as possible . The interior patina has been retained with only the seats needing new internal cushions , leather balm and lots of TLC . Adrian tried to do most of the work himself , except the professional paintwork and re-chroming .
Adrian Liepins – 1960 TVR Grantura MkIIa
Originally built and raced by John Browns of Ryton , this TVR was once described by legendary F1 driver James Clark OBE as “ the worst car he ’ d ever driven .” In 1968 , it was stored in a barn where it remained until Adrian came across it in 1995 . Since then , it has undergone a full restoration to its original specification .
Andrew Ray – 1993 Vauxhall Nova GSi
Andrew first saw this car at a show in 2015 , when it had been with its original owner for 22 years . A rare example of a late registered Nova with just 33,500 miles on the clock , Andrew loves this car and will never sell it . Even after seven years of ownership , he still opens the garage most nights for a quick look .
Christopher Bailey – 1964 Gilbern GT
Gilbern was the only Welsh made production car and this Gilbern GT was first registered in 1964 . It was found derelict in the early nineties and underwent a body off rebuild . Christopher took over the car and its restoration in 2000 after searching for this exact car for years ; the registration bears his initials CPB .
Craig Thompson – 1973 Jaguar XJC V12
The only Jaguar XJC to be built in a one-off colour of Champagne Pink for the 1973 London Motor Show . Exported to Australia in the seventies , it was returned to the UK in August 2022 . This particular car was built on a pre-production test chassis prior to the marque launch .
David Roberts – 1985 Nissan Cherry Europe 1.2
A car misunderstood by time and endless ‘ worst car ’ lists , David has long had a soft spot for the unloved Nissan Cherry Europe . He bought this last remaining 1.2 in 2016 and it has since undergone a full restoration . David says he is proud to own and maintain such a rare and fantastic motor car .
Ian Croft – 1968 Lotus Elan Plus 2
Previously owned by Graham Hill , this Lotus Elan Plus 2 was given to him as a gift whilst he was driving for Team Lotus in 1968 . It was in a seriously dilapidated condition after 35 years spent off the road before being meticulously restored to its original state by the previous owner .
Jamie Eglington – 1992 Rover Mini
This Rover Mini was bought as Jamie ’ s first car and turned into a two-year father and son restoration project . The engine has recently been upgraded from 998cc to 1380cc ; the car is finished in original factory Storm Grey and no expense has been spared on the restoration . Jamie and his dad say they are very proud of the car .

John Sarrington – 1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud LWB
John used this Rolls Royce for his wedding day transport in 1995 before becoming the owner in 2006 . It is still used as a wedding car now . Unrestored , it has had three owners from new . The Long Wheelbase model was produced to be a chauffeured car with extra legroom in the rear compartment .
