From the Classroom to a Thriving Career

Since 2018, the Lakeville Chamber’ s Lakeville Works initiative— created in partnership with the City of Lakeville and Lakeville Area Schools— has grown into a dynamic workforce development program connecting students, educators, and employers across the community.
Designed to strengthen Lakeville’ s talent pipeline, Lakeville Works helps students explore careers, build skills, and connect directly with local opportunities right here at home.
A rising component of Lakeville Works is its internship and job shadow support for seniors, helping students connect with local businesses to meet graduation requirements while gaining real-world experience.
Throughout the school year, Chamber staff and Foundation Board Members host teacher breakfasts at each school, sharing workforce resources, scholarship information and grant opportunities.
In September, Future 101: Preparing for Life After High School brings students and families together for breakout sessions highlighting post high school options- including 2 and 4-year education, direct to work and the tools and resources to support success in these pathways.
Winter programming includes Treat, Trades & Tours, an after-school camp introducing middle school students to hands-on careers through community education partnerships. In January, the“ Stepping Into Your Future” experience for 8th graders, hosted in partnership with Lakeville Area Schools, has students rotate through six interactive stations designed to introduce them to activities related to classes and clubs in high school that match their potential career interests.
Spring showcases local businesses through high school job fairs at both Lakeville North and South high schools.
Lakeville Works also produces GOOD WORK Lakeville videos, highlighting local career pathways in the trades and celebrating employer partners and donors who make the program possible.
Now Hiring
LakevilleWorks. org highlights Lakeville Chamber members who are currently hiring for full-time, part-time, seasonal, and student workers. The website also aggregates numerous outside resources for job seekers and employers.
These initiatives ensure students are not only learning about careers— but experiencing them— right here in Lakeville.
