means they cannot be within view of the street , lake , etc . Homeowners may use a screen that meets ECC guidelines or store trash receptacles in the garage or service yard of the home .
Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste pickup is noted on the community calendar , and is typically each Wednesday from April to the second week of December . Grass , clippings , and leaves must be bagged ( in paper bags ) or placed in personal containers no larger than 30 gallons in size ( clearly marked “ Yard Waste ”). Sticks and limbs must be bundled , and bundles may not be larger than 3 x 3 feet in size . Dirt , soil , and mulch are not accepted .
WATER & SEWER
The water and sewer system operating within LLA is owned by Frederick County and maintained by the Frederick County Division of Water and Sewer Utilities ( DWSU ). All utility bills are paid to the county . All problems with water pressure , water quality , sewage spills or problems must be reported to DWSU by calling 301-600-1825 during regular business hours ( 8am-4:00pm ) or 301-600-2194 for any after-hour emergency .
WATER QUALITY & CONSERVATION
It is always recommended that LLA residents do everything they can to conserve water and to protect the quality of the lake environment in the community . Everything you do on your lot affects the lakes ; so , please be mindful of how landscaping and home maintenance will impact drainage around your property . The grass swales that exist throughout the community are part of a stormwater drainage system that protects the condition of our roads and the water quality of our lakes . When drought conditions exist , the LLA follows the Frederick County orders regarding water restrictions .
WINTER WEATHER PLAN ( WWP )
LLA enacts the Winter Weather Plan ( WWP ) any time there is the potential for a winter precipitation event announced by the National Weather Service . Please note , the WWP notice is sent via email . It is the homeowner ’ s responsibility to keep LLA up to date with their current email address . More information about the WWP is outlined in your Member Account and on page 26 .
