SPRING 2019 ActivityLSAC THE ASB CONSISTS OF THREE COUNTY COUNCILLORS AND SIX MEMBERS-AT-LARGE CONSISTING OF AREA FARMERS WITH THEIR BOOTS ON THE GROUND. COUNCILLOR BOHNET, DIVISION 6 COUNCILLOR GIEBELHAUS, DIVISION 7 COUNCILLOR HOYDA, DIVISION 4 OWEN WILD KIRK WILDMAN BRUCE CHURCHILL Owen grew up on a mixed cow- calf and grain farm in Parkland County, and currently farms out of Darwell. His expertise lies in pasture management, backgrounding, and cow-calf production. Owen has previous Agriculture Services Board experience with Parkland County, as well as other boards. Problem solving and helping neighbours were the biggest reasons Owen decided to apply for the County’s ASB. The Wildman family moved to Lac Ste. Anne County in 1974, so Kirk has lived here nearly his entire life. A proud Alberta beef producer, Kirk currently farms south of Sangudo with his wife and three children. He has held several executive and leadership positions with other groups and organizations, including serving as the past president of the Canadian Angus Association. Improving his local community and staying up-to-date with agricultural issues are large reasons why Kirk joined the ASB. Together with his wife and three children, Bruce has been ranching in Lac Ste. Anne County since 1999; presently running a commercial angus cow-calf operation. Among many others, Bruce has served on the West-Central Forage Association Board of Directors in the past. As an avid proponent of community service, and having the active role of being a 4H parent, applying for a seat on Lac Ste. Anne County’s Agriculture Services Board was a natural choice for Bruce.
