LAC STE. ANNE COUNTY
MEMBERS-AT-LARGE
AGRICULTURAL SERVICE BOARD
The Agricultural Services Board (ASB) is in place to guide County administration in the formation
and amendment of agricultural policies, and help lobby the provincial and federal governments
regarding decisions that can benefit or otherwise impact local agriculture.
LARRY KIDD DUANE DREWS JOHN KYLE
Larry graduated with a BSc in
Agriculture in 1979, and never looked
back. He has been working on his
family farm, and in the agriculture
business for nearly four decades.
Larry has been a member of several
advisory boards in the past, and is
currently on the Board of Directors
for West-Central Forage Association.
Staying current with agriculture,
learning from others, and passing on
his own knowledge are key reasons
why Larry joined the ASB. Duane has farmed near Alberta
Beach for more than 35 years. He
runs a combined cow-calf and grain
operation with his wife and three
children. As a young boy, Duane
loved playing with tractors, so it’s
no surprise that (when the equipment
is working), his favourite part of
farming is operating equipment! He
has acted on other boards within
Alberta Beach, including FCSS,
ABADASA, and Beachwave Park.
Since he is community-minded
and agriculture is integral to his life,
Duane contributes valuable insight to
the County ASB and its decisions. John has been living and working
in Lac Ste. Anne County for nearly
40 years. He worked as a
veterinarian while simultaneously
running a mixed cattle and grain
operation. His focus now lies strictly
with grain farming. Since he has a
little more time on his hands, John
felt his experience in agriculture,
within the local community and on
executives with other organizations
could benefit the Agricultural Services
Board going forward.
