Be consistent – Stick to your routine, skipping one day often leads to another day missed. Even if you can only fit half your normal workout in, do it. You will wake up the next day with more ambition to stay on track. Use the buddy system – Find a friend with similar goals and encourage one another. Exercise together and use it as an opportunity to grow the relationship while keeping each other on track. T o stick to that New Years resolution to get fit, experts advise setting realistic, but challenging goals. Donna Cyrus, senior vice president of programming for Crunch, a national chain of fitness centers, says January is when many people overcommit. Instead of setting un-obtainable goals, Cyrus said, pick just three classes a week and commit to them for a month; then work you’re way up from there. Here are some helpful tips to create a fitness plan that you won’t drop half way through January: Give yourself a small goal Realistic goals are easier to obtain, and they will give you that needed boost of confidence to keep going! Write down 1 to 3 small goals each week that you can achieve. E.g. Go to Every step counts – Taking the stairs instead of the elevator counts. Drinking extra glasses of water, counts. A dip in the ocean, counts. When it comes to your health and fitness it all counts if you keep it in focus. Every little action will get you one step closer to the lifestyle you have envisioned for yourself here in Panama.
