Don’t Be Afraid of Color

If not for color, Emily’s loft would be drab and boring. Color is found everywhere. Look at the couches, the flowers, the art… don’t try to match it, the more variation the better! In theory, an all white room may sound great (as much as we want to be minimalists it’s so hard to actually maintain) vibrancy and color is much more welcoming and inviting. A pro-tip, keep the walls white to help the space look open and focus on making the room accessories colorful.

This applies to everything: metal hardware, woods and finishes, even mixing modern and vintage pieces. Most notable about Emily’s style is how eccentric and eclectic it is. This includes furniture, rugs, and even lighting fixtures. One of our favorite details about Emily’s place is that her older furniture has not been restored, old coffee tables fit better than brand new ones. Opt for antiques, auctions, and even estate sales to both keep within your budget and find more unique pieces.
