MWIS CEO Ingrid Merriwether spoke on a panel entitled , “ Accessing LA : Making City Resources Work for You .” She urged attendees to join a trade association to amplify their voices and to find business partners . Ms . Merriwether also suggested that they access the range of resources available , including the Los Angeles Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program , administered by MWIS .
LADWP SUPPLIER DIVERSITY FAIR
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power ( LADWP ) hosted a Supplier Diversity Fair on November 2 , 2023 . At the event , local , small , and disadvantaged businesses networked and got connected with prime contractors and LA city departments for potential contracting opportunities on current and upcoming infrastructure projects in the LA region .
Partners in the event included the Office of LA Mayor Karen Bass , Los Angeles World Airports , LA Metro , and various other LA city departments . The MWIS team helped staff the event .
