AN OVERVIEW OF CDABP TRAININGS
The information and resources presented during the “ Get Contract Ready with the County of Los Angeles ,” training series is instrumental in reducing barriers and preparing contractors for greater opportunities to work with the County . Increasing the pool of qualified small business contractors helps strengthen and grow the economic potential of Los Angeles County .
CDABP Hosts Contract Award & Management Training Academy
On November 22 , 2022 , the Los Angeles Regional Contractor Development and Bonding Program ( CDABP ) concluded its annual Contract Award & Management Training Academy . The six-week course , held virtually , celebrated the successful completion of its participating contractors with a graduation ceremony . Representatives from Los Angeles Metro and the City of Los Angeles were in attendance to offer their encouragement and praise .
Addressing the academy graduates , Keith Compton , Manager of Los Angeles Metro ’ s Diversity and Economic Opportunity Department , said , “ I want to congratulate you for investing in yourselves . I want to congratulate you for taking the time out and taking steps to grow your business .”
Jessica Lopez , Clear Contracting Analyst for the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration , remarked , “ It ’ s so important […] when entering into city work with city agencies to reach out [ to take advantage of ] all the free resources that we have . I ’ m excited to see more and more people become graduates of this training academy .”
The Contract Award & Management Training Academy was designed to guide participants through the process of executing a contract from the initial contract award through project completion and close-out . Each week , the curriculum focused on a new topic presented by industry experts from leading prime contracting companies . Topics presented included :
