An incredibly impressive piece by one of the most famous italian artists of all time. Whilst his ‘birth of venus’ (found in the room nextdoor to ‘primavera’ in the Uffizzi Gallery) is his most famous work, its intricacies are what make me prefer it. In the painting there are 500 different species of plant that can be identified, showing Botticelli’s unrivaled attention to detail. It pictures a group from classical mythology in a springtime garden.
