Yeah I’m ok

How are you?

Hi

Hi darling

Tight fists, furrowed brow.

No I don’t want to come home I just ... Mum?

She picked up her phone and thought about calling him. Instead she opened up Instagram and flicked though the feed, stopping at a pic of Jules, toothy-smiled and bright-eyed. Gorgeous, she was. Her best friend, off travelling round India. Rich colours and spices in the air. So exciting. The time difference made it hard for them to talk. But she was so happy for her. Yes darling

...love you

I love you too. Have a good rest little bird.

I’ll call you tomorrow.
