This term, the Viaggi section celebrates some of Italy’s hidden treasures, as we take an alternative angle on travelling in Italy. Instead of writing the usual about promenading the Ponte Vecchio, feeling dwarfed by the Colosseum or the luxuriously creamy gelato, we will be informing you about some of Italy’s worst kept secrets: from great skiing destinations and secret beach escapes; to the true delights of Tuscany as recounted by a native Tuscan, we have it all.
We will take you on a tour from the North all the way down to South of Italy and then back to England with an account of how a local Italian boy changed on moving to the UK. With a combination of English and Italian writers we see a variety of perspectives on visiting Italy, ranging from those who have always lived there, to those who have visited several times before finally hearing from those anticipating their year abroad and the delights awaiting them.
We hope you enjoy reading it and feel inspired to visit some of the lesser known parts of "Lo Stivale".
