The Opinioni section is new to this issue of La Civetta and we are really excited about it. We gave our writers and contributors free reign to have their "soapbox" moment and the responses we got were fantastic. Drawing on personal experience and outlook, Katherine Awit and Vanessa Allen have written us two fascinating pieces that take a unique view of Italy and aspects of its societal and cultural norms.
In a country that is so prone to idealisation and romanticisation, it is both challenging and refreshing to read the opinions of students that seek to go beyond it and ask more of what might be really going on in the country.
