Italy replied on the hour mark through a brilliant run by Michele Campagnaro. The Exeter centre steamrolled George Ford before beating two more and finally rounding Brown with a magnificent sidestep. Two tries from Jack Nowell either side of one from Ben Te’o gave secured the win for England late on with the game ending 36-15.

Despite the result, Italy have shown their tenacity and spirit this weekend at Twickenham, and should be lauded for it. With rumours of a Six Nations promotion/relegation system being implemented, Italy have made a big case against any future change, and have proven they deserve to be in this division. Would Georgia, Romania or Spain truly display such heart and courage should they get the chance?
