Yes, mankind has proved it is superior to animals in intellect. But does that excuse us to exploit them for our consumption or vanity? As rational and reasonable beings, shouldn't we take care of our lesser fellow creatures? In Creatures of the Same God, professor Andrew Linzey, founder of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics points out, “Almost every Christian knows that God has given humans “dominion” over animals (Genesis 1:28), but hardly any seem to know that in the following verse God decrees a vegetarian diet (v.29)”.And finally I leave you with this quotation from Ecclesiastes, “Man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity!”.
