LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Dear reader,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to this new edition of La Civetta, first of the 2016/2017 year.
We are back, once again, with our share of italianità and a rich choice of articles, interviews and reviews for everyone's taste: including sport, music, travels, food, art and news. We are also going to give you detailed reports of the events that have taken place in our department throughout the last few months.
It has been a rich and varied time for ‘Il Bel Paese’. The team of La Civetta has done its best to convey it all in this issue: the referendum that has monopolized public attention, Dario Fo’s passing, the 50th anniversary of the Florence flood…
Alongside our usual array of topics, a brand new section has been added: Città da Vivere. A column reserved to those slightly less famous Italian cities that have so much to offer. The refined and sophisticated city of Bologna launches the section, seen through two different points of view.
Feeling intrigued? I hope so.
Unfortunately, my experience as the magazine’s editor has started and has already come to an end within the same issue. I’m going back to Italy to complete my studies but I’m sure whoever takes it over is going to do a marvellous job. More so because they will be helped by an amazing team of editors, writers and designers: the best team you could possibly ask for. I cannot thank them enough.
I’d like to reserve special thanks to the teaching staff of the Italian Department whose support and invaluable help were never amiss.
Without further ado, I’ll leave you now to explore our magazine,
Enjoy!
Diana
