LA CIVETTA 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY: MARCH 2024 | Page 7

Letter from the editors

As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of La Civetta, the pride and joy of Bristol University's Italian magazine, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude and nostalgia. Over the past decade, La Civetta has been a beacon of Italian culture, art, and thought, offering a platform for exploration, creativity, and dialogue.

Our journey over the last 10 years has been nothing short of remarkable. We have delved into the depths of Italian society, culture, and history, exploring topics ranging from animal rights in the fashion industry to the renaissance art of "Rethinking Nudes." This month's edition is a nostalgic look back at some of our standout pieces, celebrating the diversity and richness of our content.

One of the themes we are particularly proud to highlight is our commitment to feminist discourse. From articles on the Non Una Di Meno campaign to discussions on gender equality, La Civetta has been at the forefront of amplifying voices and advocating for change.

At the heart of La Civetta is our dedication to artistic freedom. We pride ourselves on providing our writers with the space to explore a wide range of topics and perspectives, resulting in a collection of articles that reflects the depth and diversity of Italian culture.

As we commemorate this milestone anniversary, we had the pleasure of reconnecting with Anna Fitzgerald, one of the co-founders of La Civetta. It was inspiring to hear about the impact our magazine has had on her life and to reflect on the journey we have embarked upon together.

Looking ahead, we renew our commitment to delivering high-quality content that celebrates the beauty, diversity, and spirit of Italy. We are grateful for the support of our readers, contributors, and partners, and we look forward to continuing this journey together for another ten years and beyond.

Grazie mille to everyone who has been a part of our journey thus far. Here's to another decade of passion, creativity, and la dolce vita!

Thank you,

Rebecca Homan and Lucy Hollander
