KWETB UPDATE ON INTEGRATION AND DEVELOPMENTS IN KWETB FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE set-up and induction of over 100 new staff members across KWETB. I congratulate and welcome each and every new member of staff and I look forward to their contribution to KWETB. Education Officer Patricia O’ Brien and the Senior Management Team with new Principal Ciaran Keegan are all working hard on the preparation and organisation of the new Naas Community College. In addition, KWETB has joint patronage with Educate Together 4 for the new Celbridge Community School with the new Principal Gerard O’ Leary. This partnership is very successful and this is down to the commitment of all involved. I would like to take this opportunity to wish both schools every success in their preparation, planning and openings in September 2015 and every success into the future. Alongside the development of our schools section, our Further Education and Training (FET) sector is also experiencing significant change and development. The development of the KWETB FET Service Plan 2015 was initiated at a two-day seminar on the 26th and 27th January and I clearly signalled the changes which are expected in our provision from 2015 into the future. I especially emphasised the need for the realignment of FET programmes with labour market needs; the expansion of learning choice and the elimination of duplication for learners; and most importantly, increasing the participation of the long term unemp
