A native of Sierra Leone , and an award winning executive film producer , Wendy Bangura has received international acclaim for her film The Entrapped . Wendy is an international Sierra Leonean actress , producer , writer and author . Wendy received the Nollywood Film Critics 2012 Award for Best Director in the film Diaspora featuring Desmond Elliot and best leading actress Syr Law . Her film won another award from the 2012 Golden Icons Academy for Best Cinematography in Diaspora , featuring Robert Peters and best supporting Actress Susan Peters .
Wendy ' s vision for her film The Entrapped was to garner the attention of an international audience by casting movie stars from different continents . She worked tirelessly with her cast to give the film the recognition it deserved . Wendy starred with Hollywood actress Syr Law , Hollywood actor Illya Konstantin , Nollywood actors Desmond Elliot and Chuck Kendall , Nollywood actress Susan Peters , Sierra Leonean actor David Vandy , Liberian actor Emmanuel Mensah , and a cast of others .

Wendy Bangura first shined in the entertainment spotlight at the age of twelve . While in Sierra Leone , she won first place in a beauty pageant and was crowned Miss Murray Deen . She later pursued beauty contests , fashion shows , acting , and live competitions . Wendy was admired as a role model of beauty and confidence for the young and old . Acting became her passion .
Currently working on her newest movie script , Wendy has been featured in The Entrapped , Busted Life , Coming from Africa , Twisted Brain , and Blood Brothers .
Wendy heads the non-profit organization known as Help the Poor Africa Charity ( HELPAC ). HELPAC was a vision created by her mother , CEO and Founder , Mrs . Bangura . The organization was established to help the poor in Sierra Leone and other African countries with a mission to help transform the lives of families in poverty . HELPAC believes that food , shelter , education and medical supplies are a fundamental human right . HELPAC has been recognized for their humanitarian efforts in publications and by filmmakers . For her charitable work , Wendy received a prestigious award by the Save Sierra Leone Foundation .
