I came across this old vinyl 33 1/3 LP record left discarded in the dirt, covered with minute pinholes and warping from the extreme heat. I couldn't help wonder who it had belonged to. Certainly someone in the past had cherished this item, maybe even singing along and dancing to the jazzy beat. This particular record is called Oops! The Swinging Sounds of Bill Doggett and his Combo. Produced in 1962 this album included the following songs... Honky Tonk (pt. I) Honky Tonk (pt. II) Canadian Sunset 'Deed I Do Buster Forest Green Oops Stop that Twistin' in Here I Cover the Waterfront Lady's Choice Mommy (pt. I) Mommy (pt. II). Born William Ballard Doggett in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1913, began playing music in church at the age of 9 years old. Throughout his career he played with such notables as the Ink Spots, Johnny Otis, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan. You can easily find many of his songs on YouTube and hear for yourself the music that this unknown resident of Trona enjoyed back in the 1960's. 47
